Prophecies and Climate Change!

November 12, 2014

male female rainbowA Cree Native American prophecy states, “There will come a time when the Earth grows sick, and when it does, a tribe will gather from all cultures of the World, who believe in deeds and not words. They will work to heal it. They will be known as ‘Warriors of the Rainbow’.”

Comment: The Cree prophecy encapsulates the reality of the situation but is reactive rather than proactive. It suggests people around the globe will only make a serious effort to combat climate change near the point of no return. One could challenge this on both sides of the battle line. While there is unilateral awareness and agreement among governments that climate change is real, exasperated or induced by human activities and that something must be done about it; initiatives underway to do something about it are mostly rhetoric and lack significant penalties against polluters.

Furthermore, few if any individuals are willing to pay more for solutions, few if any industries are willing to pay the “real” cost of harmful emissions, and few if any governments of major fossil fuel consuming nations are will to level the playing field between clean energy and CO2 producing fuels, by either subsidizing the cost of clean energy or removing the tangible subsidies and intangible incentives (regulatory exemptions) granted to the producers of fossil fuels.

Maybe the Cree were right after all!

The Cree are one of the largest groups of First Nations/Native Americans in North America, with over 200,000 members living in Canada. In the United States, this Algonquian-speaking people historically lived from Lake Superior westward. Today, they live mostly in Montana, where they share a reservation with the Ojibwe (Chippewa).

Fracking uses very large amounts of water, and this activity being promoted by the OIL industry poisons groundwater, as well as soil, utterly ridiculous waste of resources. WE have clean energy tech, many that need no fuel of any kind, yet they have yet to be globally deployed. ‘Fossil fuel’ is a meaningless term, as hydrocarbons are constantly generated, along with hydrous oxide (water) by volcanic, tectonic and geochemical processes, no plants or dinosaurs went into creating hydrocarbons in the ground. http://www.primarywaterinstitute.org is a good resource to learn more about ongoing processes within the sacred Earth Mother.

    Greg,
“Uses a very large amount of water” – compared to what. It’s an industry not some water sport. Do you know how much water other industries use, not to mention what homeowners and communities use to keep their grass nice and green? Your statement has no substance! Is it too much to take the time to conduct a comparative analysis, even a google search on the subject?
