Smart Meters and Smart Consumers Don’t Mix!

Back in April 2008, Business Week ran an article title “The Static Over Smart Grids.” In response, I wrote a letter called “Smart Grids Need Smarter Consumers.” BusinessWeek published my response later that month. It stated:  “Variable-rate energy pricing makes sense only if consumers can monitor their usage and actual pricing in real time, on their home computers, say. This would prevent sticker shock and enable consumers to take steps to conserve energy.”

Fast forward to today; this somewhat relevant “consumer sticker shocked” videocast appeared on the net. It gets annoying after the first 6 minutes and turns into a promotion. Yet, it is worth listening too. To watch the video, please visit:
