Is This a Threat or a Call of Freedom? American National Security and the Right to Worship Underpinned With Fear!!!!!

September 9, 2010

In the wake of 911, in the shadow of the Constitution and Bill of Rights comes the Islamic Center controversy. To sort of paraphrase Abe Lincoln “Now we are engaged in a great civil strife between rights and wisdom, testing whether this nation, or any nation so conceived and so dedicated, can long endure.”

Read on and tell us what you think!

“Imam: Handling of Islamic center plan a matter of national security,” by the CNN Wire Staff, September 9, 2010, states:

The religious leader behind plans to build an Islamic center and mosque a few blocks from New York’s ground zero said Wednesday night that America’s national security depends on how it handles the controversy.

“If we move from that location, the story will be the radicals have taken over the discourse,” Imam Feisal Abdul Rauf told CNN’s Soledad O’Brien on “Larry King Live.”

“The headlines in the Muslim world will be that Islam is under attack.”

But some critics decried his assessment.

“The whole national security thing: that’s a veiled threat,” Andy Sullivan, a union construction worker who wants all New York construction workers to boycott the proposed Islamic center, said on CNN’s “AC 360” Wednesday night. “He’s saying ‘you make me move’ and, guess what, the whole radical Muslim world is coming after us.”

This “mosque” community center is also known as the Cordoba House. In the 9th century when the Moors conquered Spain they constructed a Mosque on top of church grounds as a symbol of their victory. That is what this is all about. Conquest! This is not an issue about religious freedom. This is a spit in your face insult to all Americans. Just because you have the right to do something doesn’t mean you ought to! Where is the exercise of moral judgment in the location of a Mosque just two blocks from Ground Zero (not a “few blocks” as CNN described it)? There is none!
